Spring Life Skills 2019

Do you have a fun skill that kids would like to learn? Are you available April 16-18 or 23-25 between the hours of 10am-3pm? We need helpers and lead teachers for Spring Life Skills 2019! Classes (session one 11am-12pm & session two 1pm-2pm) include reading, guitar, ukulele, art, sports, computers, sewing or any fun class people are willing to share with our kids. We also need help in the kitchen getting breakfast, lunch and snack ready for the kids.

Are you thinking about year end giving?

We are kicking off the giving season (November 27-December 31) to raise funds for summer camp in 2019 !

We are looking forward to sending 100 kids to Indian Hills Camp July 1,2 and 3 for three days of learning about Jesus, fun worship/camp songs, ziplining, swimming, archery, BMX bikes, and fun outdoor games such as 9 square-in-the-air, Gaga ball, and human foozeball. Night time activities include: camp fire with skits and carnival night.

Indian Hills Camp will cost $225 per child for the 3 days of day camp. We are looking to raise $22,500 to bless 100 kids with a life changing camp experience!

It’s that time of year again!

We are preparing for our Thanksgiving-In-A-Box program. Our most underpriviledged families will get a full Thanksgiving meal including the turkey and dessert! The families will receive extra bags of groceries thanks to the food drive Hillsdale Middle School provides.

We can use:

Gift cards for stores (Vons, Albertsons, Walmart, Smart & Final) to purchase perishable food items including onions, celery, potatoes, pies and rolls.

Non-perishable needs include Gravy (cans, jars or packets), stuffing, and instant potatoes.

Fundraising Gala

Sonshine Haven’s Black & White Fundraising Gala on Saturday, November 3, 2018  was an amazing event!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this great cause of bringing Jesus to the children of East and South county.

We had a slient auction, dinner, entertainment provided by Michael Sanchez, a finalist on the Voice 2016 and worship leader at Shadow Mountain Community Church, and Sonshine Club kids from 4 different schools.  Several local pastors and leaders including Mayor of El Cajon, Bill Wells, were in attendace and prayed over the ministry of Sonshine Haven.

Cinderella/fella Day

Cinderella/fella Day is a special opportunity for our disadvantaged kids going into middle school to go shopping for new clothes, shoes, hair cuts, and manicures and age appropriate makeup for the girls. The kids each will recieve a backpack full of school supplies to make the first day a great day! The kids also get before and after pictures taken and sent to parents.

This year we are having two days for kids August 8th was Mini Cinderella/fella Day with 6 kids getting outfitted for middle school as their school district started back to school on August 9th. Here are some pictures from the Mini Day last week:
