We were a blessing to our Sonshine Club families this holiday season!

What we offer
Sonshine Haven provides 500+ elementary and middle school children in 16+ schools in seven school districts in San Diego County with free, faith-based after school clubs.  We also offer free Life Skills classes, Thanksgiving-in-a-Box and Christmas Adopt-a-Family to help our club kids and their families in need. We enjoy offering an overnight camp experience to our club kids in the summer at Indian Hills Camp.

If you want to help bring Jesus to the kids of east county join a Sosnhine Club or HigherGround Club team!

If you can give 2 hours a week to bring Jesus to kids contact us!

Only requirements to volunteer are you must love Jesus and love kids!

Life Skills 2025

Spring Life Skills Dates
April 7-9 &14-16
Summer Life Skills Dates
June 23-25, July 7-9 & 14-16
10:00am-2:30pm
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Volunteers needed to teach classes or assist in classes. Some classes offered are Reading, sports, dance, guitar/Ukulele, art, cooking, sewing, pickle making, salt making, Tie Dye...
Anything you can teach in an hour that is fun for kids! volunteer times would be 9:30am-2:45pm

Items needed:  
  • Stuffies (new or gently used)
  • Goggles
  • Pool inflatable toys
  • beach balls
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Bouncy balls
  • hot wheels cars
  • individually wrapped candy (no gum)
  • Compartmental Paper plates
  • 5oz Dixie cups
  • Individually wrapped snacks (chips , cookies, cheese its, goldfish, fruit snacks

Prayer Requests:
• Please keep praying for all the club leaders to prepare and teach well God’s Word and that His Spirit would awaken hearts to receive the truth of the good news!  
• Please pray that more volunteers will step forward with a heart to reach children for Jesus. 
• Please pray that we the staff and board with have wisdom and discernment for this new year/season.

Volunteer

We want to expand our clubs in more schools to help more children learn about the love of Jesus and become successful.  Join a Sonshine/Higher Ground club team, help in or lead a Life Skills class, donate items for a Thanksgiving meal or adopt a family at Christmas time.
