Spring and Summer Life Skills 2019

Spring Life Skills was amazing! We averaged 70 kids a day! There were lots of fun classes to choose from including Shell Cross necklaces, fun with Echo the dog, exploring Butterflies, sewing and computers. There was also a service project where the kids made sock kits stuffed with hygene products that where donated to Rachel’s House and East County Transitional Living Center. We also had visits from the San Diego County Fair and Youth In Action. Thank You to all the volunteers that made Spring Life Skills possible! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Are you or someone you know available between the hours of 10am-3pm on any of these dates:
June 25-27, July 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25? We need helpers and lead teachers for Summer Life Skills 2019! Classes (session one 11am-12pm & session two 1pm-2pm) include reading, guitar, ukulele, art, sports, computers, sewing or any fun class wonderful people like you are willing to teach our kids. We also need help in the kitchen getting breakfast, lunch and snack ready for the Life Skillers and volunteers.

Are you thinking about year end giving?

We are kicking off the giving season (November 27-December 31) to raise funds for summer camp in 2019 !

We are looking forward to sending 100 kids to Indian Hills Camp July 1,2 and 3 for three days of learning about Jesus, fun worship/camp songs, ziplining, swimming, archery, BMX bikes, and fun outdoor games such as 9 square-in-the-air, Gaga ball, and human foozeball. Night time activities include: camp fire with skits and carnival night.

Indian Hills Camp will cost $225 per child for the 3 days of day camp. We are looking to raise $22,500 to bless 100 kids with a life changing camp experience!

We can use:

Gift cards for stores (Vons, Albertsons, Walmart, Smart & Final) to purchase perishable food items including onions, celery, potatoes, pies and rolls.

Non-perishable needs include Gravy (cans, jars or packets), stuffing, and instant potatoes.

If you would like to bless a family with any of these items please contact Sonshine Haven at 619-440-1221 or just stop by with your donations. Monday-Friday 10am-4pm

Sonshine Haven’s Black & White Fundraising Gala on Saturday, November 3, 2018  was an amazing event!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this great cause of bringing Jesus to the children of East and South county.

We had a slient auction, dinner, entertainment provided by Michael Sanchez, a finalist on the Voice 2016 and worship leader at Shadow Mountain Community Church, and Sonshine Club kids from 4 different schools.  Several local pastors and leaders including Mayor of El Cajon, Bill Wells, were in attendace and prayed over the ministry of Sonshine Haven.
